Hi ya'll I would like to announce that I have co-authored a research study on Texas Topaz. A common question is how to differentiate topaz from Texas vs everywhere else. Gem faceters often use star patterns to identify our topaz from Mason County, but it isn't proof. Some gem and mineral scientists in Texas and at the Gemological Institute of America decided to try to answer the question. We helped.
